Little trip down memory lane this morning… Will never forget my time at Utah State.
The Mountain West Conference has been around since the 1999-2000 season. At the time of this writing, that’s 26 seasons in existence. We were the last program to ever win the Mountain West Conference Tournament back-to-back.
This was a pivotal game versus #12-ranked Nevada on March 2, 2019 that propelled us to the Mountain West Regular Season Championship for the 2018-2019 season. There’s nothing like a sold-out crowd in the Spectrum. We went on to defeat Colorado State in overtime three days later to secure a share of the Regular Season Championship.
Reaction to “THE SHOT”. This will always be one of the most iconic moments in the history of Utah State men’s basketball. Sam Merrill’s legendary shot against #5-ranked San Diego State on March 7, 2020 made the Aggies back-to-back Mountain West Conference Tournament Champions.
